FAQs: Wedding Coverage and Packages

How far in advance are you booking dates?

I typically book 2 days to 1-2 years in advance. Reach out to inquire if your date is available.


How long have you been photographing weddings?

My team has been photographing weddings since 2016.


How do you work at weddings? (Candids, comfortable prompting/posing, journalistic)

All of the above! We'll help you pose with suggestions and prompts, capture candid moments, and take photojournalistic photos to tell the story of the whole day.


How would you describe your artistic style?

Bright, colorful, and timeless. We capture the day as it is (we're not going to photoshop in sunshine on a stormy/cloudy day. We love keeping the colors vibrant and true-to-life.


Can you share full wedding galleries with us?

Of course! Please send us an email (hello@norulesphotography.com) and we'd be happy to send you recent full galleries.


If we hire you for only a part of the day, will you book other events that day?

Weddings over 4 hours are exclusive bookings for that day and photographer/photography team.


What's included in your pricing?

Although it depends on the specific wedding package, the basics included in each package are:

- The duration of coverage for the # of photographers

- Online gallery

- Download of online gallery (as many times as you'd like) of high resolution images


Are there travel fees?

It depends on where the photographer is traveling to. We don't charge for travel within an hour of Portland, Oregon. If the celebration/event is in the evening, we may need to account for overnight accommodations.


How many photos can I expect to receive for X # of hours or per hour?

The number of images included in your online gallery will vary based on the duration of the coverage, number of photographers, and the logistics/timeline of the day. For instance, if there's a lot of walking between locations during an hour, you may receive fewer photos that during formals or reception coverage. We typically average 50-75 photos per hour for final gallery delivery.


Do you retouch the photos? To what extent? If I have a favorite photo, will you perfect it before I print it?

We do retouch the photos. The owner, Daniela, is the editor for the entire business, regardless of which photographer provides the coverage, to maintain consistency of the editing style. Basic corrections to lighting and color will be performed before the gallery is delivered. For close-up photos, temporary blemishes may be removed if requested. If you have a favorite photo you'd like to print, we will absolutely perform additional editing if you let us know.

* More extensive editing, like face swaps, removal of people or backgrounds, etc., may require additional time and a surcharge.


Do you have a contract I can read over?

Absolutely. Please send us an email at hello@norulesphotography.com and we'll send you one!


What other services do you offer? Engagement sessions, boudoir sessions, etc.?

All types of photography! We do portraits, parties, boudoir, pets, corporate events, head shots, you name it! We also offer albums as add-ons for wedding packages.


Are rehearsal dinners included in the price?

Rehearsal dinners are typically not included in the wedding packages, but can be added on as a regular portrait session.


What is your payment structure?

In addition to a signed contract, we require a 50% or $500 deposit (whichever is less) to book your date. You're able to pay your balance however you'd like as long as final payment is made 1 month before the date of the booked event. The contract covers terms for postponements, forced cancellations, etc.


How quickly do you return photos after the wedding, and in what format (USB, online gallery, prints)?

We turn galleries within 4 weeks, with clients receiving sneak peeks within 24 hours of their event. All galleries and sneak peeks are provided digitally via an online gallery service.


What quality or types of images will I receive? Will they be high resolution or web resolution?

You'll have your choice in what size you download the gallery, but each image is exported at high resolution, 300 dpi.

Am I required to purchase prints through you?

Nope! Although the online gallery has print purchasing options, you can download without purchases and print elsewhere. Totally up to you!


What type of equipment do you use? Do you have backups?

Our business photographs with professional Nikon equipment, with many body, lens, and flash backups. We often bring along backups to backups!


Do you offer albums?

Yes! We should talk about what you're looking for, and I can offer you a quote.


Can we give you a list of shots we want to make sure are captured?

Absolutely! This is especially helpful for listing out family and friends groups during formals. We can't guarantee we will be able to capture every image on your list, but we'll certainly work to accomplish it!


Will we have rights to the images?

Yes, you will hold non-commercial rights to the images for personal use.


In the event you will not be able to photograph my wedding (last minute), do you have a backup plan?

Yep, we have backup plans to the backup plans! We will work to find a replacement photographer, either inside our business, or with a partner photography company.


Will you be posting our images to social media, blogs, or magazines/publications?

We love to share highlights of your gallery via blog posts and social media to help other couples searching for a photographer a wide breadth of samples of our work. We also love to feature our couples, just for the sake of getting to congratulate them one more time! If you have questions about this, please email or call us, and we can discuss options for not releasing certain images or entire galleries.


Do you offer aerial or drone photography, or videography?

We do not.
