Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, Slytherins, and magical folks of from all walks of life gathered at the @pdx_hpa Yule Ball to fundraise for the @friendlyhousepdx this past weekend. The incredible @djswitchpdx made the event unforgettable with an awesome music selection that had everyone dancing their dress robes off!

The event was a fundraiser for the Friendly House Elder Pride Services (https://fhpdx.org/for-adults-seniors/elder-pride-services/) and the main fundraising method was a raffle for sets of amazing prizes. Some of the prizes were handmade, like the quilts, and were highly sought after. The raffle table actually ran out of raffle tickets and had to go buy more with all the interest!
There were so many amazing outfits, with folks both dressing up as Hogwarts house students and teachers, but also as magical beings and wizarding folk.
The Master of Ceremonies, Brandie, is also the headmistress of the PDXpelliarmus Harry Potter Activists - the Portland chapter of Fandom Forward (formerly known as the Harry Potter Alliance). She opened the pre-ball feast, welcomed the attendees, awarded the Triwizard Cup, and coordinated the raffle prizes and winner selection.
The Yule Ball wouldn't have been so special without the magical music! DJ Switch (https://www.djswitchpdx.com/) - the entire night was fueled by amazing songs.
With all the decor, music, and ambiance, the dance floor was packed!
Did you know there's a local group of Dancing Witches, and they're recruiting?!? The PDX Dancing Witches are an inclusive dance group for all genders and abilities, and they're amazing!
