A Creekside Wedding at Horning's Hideout

From D20 boutonnieres to a wedding cape, L & R's wedding was creative, personal, and beautiful. The venue was the Main Stage (Creekside covered area) at Horning's Hideout, which is next to a small lake. The venue is at the bottom of a grouping of campsites dedicated to that venue rental, making it seem secluded by the shore, surrounded by your guests and loved ones.

Their wedding was primarily a DIY endeavor, with R creating the florals, boutonnieres, and some of the other décor. L crafted all of the jewelry she wore, as well as the suncatchers gifted to guests. Their friends and family helped with set up, decorating, setting tables, and organizing the space. Hair and makeup was done below the stage in a getting ready area by one of the bride's close friends. The event was coordinated by another close friend. Everyone joined together to create a gorgeous, intimate ceremony and celebration.

One of the most memorable portions of the wedding was L's brother singing during the ceremony. He's a musician, DJ, and karaoke host, and the experience of him singing was incredibly moving. The couple also had brought and set up board and lawn games for the reception, and their food was entirely plant-based (catered by Veggie Grill). (If you're looking for a delicious plant-based buffet-style catering option, I 10/10 recommend Veggie Grill, by the way.)

L's and her friends surprised L's mother by incorporating pieces of her mom's veil into L's cape. They had a first look at the cape together, and L's mother had tears in her eyes seeing how her memories were incorporated into her daughter's attire for her wedding.
